Rob Treen joined Union in 2022 as a VFX supervisor.
With both parents in the industry and a childhood spent on various sets, wandering around prop makers workshops, post houses and being left in the care of design departments, Rob found himself wanting to spend the rest of his life involved in creating stories for the screen.
This led to a degree in Fine Art at Manchester School of Art from where he went straight into the Art Department. Working on various award-winning projects from Primeval and Happy Valley to Inside Number 9, Rob turned his hand to almost anything he was allowed near. After over 8 years and countless weird and wonderful builds, Rob was seduced by VFX and the creative opportunities it brings to projects, retraining to become a compositor.
Rob worked almost constantly, quickly moving up the ranks to 2D Supervisor and then VFX Supervisor. He’s worked on a wide variety of projects, from Dr Who and Kingsman to Small Axe and Save the Cinema, happily embracing his return to set.
His credits include:
Dr Who, Kingsman - The Golden Circle, Mute, Alienist, Small Axe, Archive, Twist, Save the Cinema, Fishermans Friends 2, The Crown, Troy: Fall of a city, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, The Boy who Harnessed the Wind, Out Of Blue, Teletubbies, A Suitable Boy, The Laureate, The Obscure Life of the Grand Duke of Corsica, Falling, Made in Italy, The Postcard Killings and The Loneliest Boy in the World
