All applications need to be submitted via our careers page on the Union VFX website. If you do not see the role you are interested in listed, please use the "Send us Your CV" vacancy to submit a speculative application. We will then review your details and consider you for future positions.

If you are applying for a role with Union VFX then you will need to make sure you submit a CV no matter what the role is or your level. For creative roles, you will also need to make sure you include a link to your most recent showreel. For non-creative positions a showreel is not necessary but you can always include one should you want to.

Whilst a cover letter is not necessarily a requirement when applying for roles, it can often be a great way to stand out as a candidate. It's a great way to expand on your experience and skillset, as well as showing off your enthusiasm and interest in the role and studio. If you're applying for your first industry role and have little to no experience, a cover letter will really help your application. We do love reading them too!

Be realistic about the skills and experience you already have. Running is always a great place to start as it will give you invaluable insight into the industry and the types of roles you might want to progress into. Other entry level opportunities include roles such as Production Assistant, Roto Artist and Matchmove Artist, depending on your areas of interest.

We will always endeavour to review and respond to your application as quickly as possible. however it will also depend on how busy we are and the volume of applications we are getting. We suggest allowing 2-4 weeks minimum before getting back in touch with us for an update.

We would always suggest that you wait until you have new work or experiences to showcase, otherwise it's likely to be the same outcome. If we are interested in your skills and experience, we will always express our interest, even if we are not hiring at the time. In this case you can keep in touch with the recruitment team to get updates on the studios changing needs.

Contract types will vary depending on the role, studio and/or show needs, as well the candidates individual situation. We offer permanent, fixed-term and freelance opportunities.

Our preference is to have all employees onsite 3 days a week, Tuesday to Thursday. Remote opportunities may be considered but it will depend on studio needs and not guaranteed.

Whilst Union VFX are set up as sponsors, our ability to offer visa support will depend on the role, level and contract type. It's not something we do a lot of so please bear this in mind when applying for roles with us.

We try to run work experience opportunities in London twice a year for 16 - 20 year old students with an interest in pursuing a career in post-production. We are not able to offer bespoke, one off work experience due to the availability of our team.

An Apprenticeship can offer the best of both worlds, giving you invaluable experience working as well as knowledge to kick-start your career. We work closely with NextGen Skills Academy to offer apprenticeships at Union in London. The roles available are Junior 2D Compositing Artist, Junior VFX Artist and Assistant Technical Director. Internships are not something we are currently able to offer in either of our studio locations.

Union VFX is also a member of ACCESS:VFX a collective of VFX, animation and games studios who are working together to drive greater awareness, inclusion and diversity in our industry.
